. thank you for joining us. i'm ama dates in for carolyn johnson. this started after a motorcycle crash in oakland and both on highway 24. alan wang is live with the story tonight. alan? >> dan and ama, the eastbound wilder road off-ramp reopened after a six-hour crime scene investigation. but police are still looking for any witnesses who may know what happened on highway 24 is that lead up to the officer-involved shooting. >> sheriff investigators say the suspect vehicle was parked along the eastbound wilder road exit off the highway 24 tunnel. around 4:00 a chp officer investigating an injury hit andun incident saw the car that matched the suspect description. a toolbox was opened next to the front tire and there was front end damage to the silver honda which had no license plates. at some point the officer fired his weapon at the driver and hitting him in the torso. investigators are not saying what lead to the shooting and they will not say whether a motorcycle crash an hour earlier is connected. this is video shot by abc7 on highway 24 around a 3:30. the motorcycle crashed and bur

joins us now with live doppler 7hd. >> and here is what it looks like as far as the conditions. let's look at live doppler 7hd. let's check out the weather, where the fire is burning. 69 degrees and the relative humidity is coming up throughout the day. the winds have dropped off northwesterly to 4. and as you look at this satellite imagery, it shows you just how far that smoke is traveling. it is quite a distance as i show you this loop here taking you up toward reno. it is 149 miles. we do have an air quality warning until noontime on monday for the vicinity of the fire. and we do also have a dense fog smoke advisory, tahoe and reno are under it until saturday at 7:00 p.m. look at this time lapse. with all of the smoke in the air you are looking out toward heavenly and you can see the redish hugh of the sunset. i will talk about the local weather and what is changing. >>> the governor declared a state of emergency for the city and county of san francisco and that's because of the threat the fire poses to the city's utilities as well as its water supply. abc7 news reporter cornell

the triplex that he own and he used one unit as his office and represented out the other. one of the units with bart will issue a 48 hour strike notice tomorrow if no progress is made. they made the threat after talks ended. the issues remain the same. salary and medical contributions and overtime. governor brown ordered a board to investigate the talks and expected to decide this weekend whether to declare a 60-day cooling off period. new at 11:00, a muni bus caught fire this afternoon upon in san francisco's outer richmond district. the bus was on geary near 28th when flame broke out after 3:00. sky 7 was overhead moments after crews put out the fire. firefighters tell us it looks like an engine problem started it all. they managed to get off the bus safely. >> officials in san bruno canceled classes after police searched unsuccessfully for a man thought to be armed with a rifle. they received reportsa the noon and placed a lockdown because they feared he was heading there. skyline is located near the san francisco jail. the lockdown was lifted at 6:30 and no classes are scheduled friday

. sandhya is tracking the conditions rate now for us near yosemite. sandhya. >> let me show you live doppler 7 hd and talk about the conditions and humidity starting to creep up a little bit. as you look at live doppler 7 hd we have the fog near the coast and the current conditions near the fire line 69 degrees relative humidity at 38 percent gone up from the teens early today. wind out of the west north west at 7. not quite as breezy as it was early this evening. air quality warning has been issued until noon friday and check out the satellite picture. this is taking you back in time. smoke from the rim fire is quite evidence. it is traveled all the way up towards reno. you can see how large that plume is. we do expect the smoke qu skys to remain there and not much relief is expected with the warm dry conditions heading into the weekend. back with local forecast in a few minute minutes. >> all right sandhya thank you. >> the fire not forcing any evacuation or closure in yosemite national park but a number of camp nearby severely impacted by the flames. including the city o

no arrest tonight. the police chief promised to use every available resource. it is going to be a difficult task because the death of the one-year-old boy and his father adds to the load of violent cases that are piling up on an under staffed police department. >> this is absolutely unacceptable that we have children being shot while they sleep in their bed. >> sean wentz says he is dedicating every resource available to catch those responsible for shooting up this home with the father and one-year-old son. >> he ales had his baby with him. >> she says her 20-year-old nephew andrew thomas and his son drew were sleeping in the home with several other young family members in this room. it was around a 2:30 when the shots rang out. >> pop, pop, pop, pop. like eight or nine times. >> andrew died instantly. the baby died at the hospital. the father and son arrived here last week to attend his sister's birthday party. >> and then that morning our other cousin just got shot and so we thought they were going to stay out here until after his funeral is over. so it might -- it could be a connection o
